The 'Rainbow Nation', 'The World in One Country', 'The Epitome of Mankind', all used to describe one place, South Africa. Few countries on earth can rival the beauty and grandeur of the South African landscape.
From the deserts to the tropics, from mountains to canyons, from the African bush to lush vineyards and orchards – South Africa has it all.

Then it’s cycling to Cape point and a hike to the tip of Africa. Remember to wear comfortable shoes, as the short hike to the top is not to be missed, offering panoramic views of the peninsula and the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. Having your photo taken at the famed Cape of Good Hope sign, marking the south-westernmost tip of Africa, is a must. Hike on to the lighthouse for an exceptionally marvelous view. Next up, you can get your fix of cuteness as you walk alongside African penguins at Boulders beach and learn about these endangered creatures and the efforts being made to conserve them.
Day 3:
Cape Town City Tour
Follow the tracks of Portuguese explorers Bartolomeu Dias who left Europe on a quest with a mission to find a passage to India around the African continent. When approaching this tip of the African continent in 1488 his ship was hit by a very persistent south-easterly gale wind. The Southeaster blows directly into any ship that’s sailing down the west coast of Africa, so Dias found it extremely difficult to hug the coastline. Of course, he had no idea how close he was to rounding the African continent. He was frustrated by this constant battle of having to tack directly into the wind, so he decided to take an easier course. Now, you'll get a chance to spend a day exploring the beautiful Cape Peninsula on this full-day tour from Cape Town. With a professional guide by your side, get a true sense of the beauty and diversity of Cape Town as you meander along some of the city’s most precious gems. Cape Town is famed for her iconic Table Mountain, but this city has far more to offer than just that. From diverse fauna and flora, to spectacular views and cultural delights, the Cape will wow you with her rich surprises. This tour combines the best experiences the Cape Peninsula has to offer, all in one actioned packed itinerary. Travel to Hout Bay harbour and enjoy free time to wander independently and revel in an unparalleled cultural experience, with local traders, informal markets, fresh fish and chips and more. Or choose to board a glass-bottomed boat and cruise to Duiker Island to view the lazy Cape Fur seals as they bob about and soak up the sun. Meander along the sheer drops of Chapman’s Peak Drive as you make your way to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Upon entry be sure to look out for roaming ostriches or mischievous baboons as you drive up to the breath-takingly scenic Cape Point. Along the way, stop to drink in the coastal scenery while wandering amid the fynbos. Next up, you can get your fix of cuteness as you walk alongside African penguins at Boulders beach and learn about these endangered creatures and the efforts being made to conserve them. End off your day watching the surfers of Muizenberg trying to catch the wave of the day, as you drive back to Cape Town via this coastal town.
Day 4:
Off to Joburg!
After Breakfast, we check our from our hotel in Cape town and head to the airport for our flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you get transferred to your hotel.
Day 5:
Full Day Pretoria and Diamond Tour
The Cullinan Diamond Mine is the site of the World’s oldest and South Africa’s third richest diamond mine. Premier mine opened in 1902 and together with it founded the pretty Victorian village of Cullinan. The Cullinan Mine produced the world’s largest gem quality diamond – a massive 3106-carats uncut!
We visit the enormous open cast mine, excavated from Kimberlite rock which is now four times larger than the famous “Big Hole” in Kimberley. Continue to Cullinan Diamonds where we view diamond cutting & polishing before we are invited to browse the loose diamonds and exquisite jewellery.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue with our cultural journey of exploration through our capital, the Jacaranda City, so called for its breath-taking purple-lined streets when the jacaranda trees are in full bloom.
We’re ready and set to trace South Africa’s extraordinary history via a range of imposing, intriguing museums and monuments, beginning with the legendary Voortrekker Monument, a memorial to the early settlers. We travel on to the Kruger Museum, the private residence of President Paul Kruger of the old Transvaal Republic.
We’ve chosen to end this City Tour with the Union Buildings, not only an architectural icon, but site of the emotionally charged scene which played out at Nelson Mandela’s joyful inauguration as president in 1994. You’ll be standing precisely where South African history turned the corner.
Day 6:
Off to Sun City!
Today we check out from our hotel in Joburg and we head to Sun City. Upon arrival we check in our hotel and the rest of the day is free for us to choose from the various activities in Sun City.
Recommended: The Valley of Waves is the central feature of the Lost City at Sun City. It is one of the most advanced water parks in the world, dominated by the Roaring Lagoon. When waves are not generated, a bobbing cycle is generated in a diamond pattern.
Day 7:
Sun City
Today, you've got a full day to enjoy in this amazing resort.
Scheduled Game drives are available daily in our 25-seater open game drive vehicles to explore the Pilanesberg National Park spanning over 55 000 hectares of rolling plains. Adventure Leader Description
The Adventure Leader's mission is to make sure you have a smooth experience and to help you have the best experience possible. They will offer recommendations for things to do and see, great local eating venues and help the group interact and get to know each others (most of the time this actually happens on its own). While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the countries visited. We also use local guides where we think more specific knowledge is needed.
Group Size
Average: 15 pax
Meals
Food is an essential part of traveling. Traveling with Gazef we try as much as we can to help you experience the different kinds of food available in each destination. Our groups tend to eat together to enable you to enjoy each other's company. There is no obligation to do this at all times though. We usually leave out some of the meals excluded from the itinerary to give you the flexibility to choose what to eat based on your personal preference. It also gives you more budgeting flexibility. Your Adventure Leader will be able to suggest good restaurants during your trip. Vegetarians will be able to find a range of different foods, although in some areas the choice maybe limited.
Solo Travellers
Our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a mandatory single supplement unless requested. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip.
What to Pack
What you need to bring depends on the trip you have chosen and the countries or regions you are planning to visit. A Packing List will be sent to you as soon as you book the trip. We suggest that you pack as lightly as possible as your are expected to carry your own luggage. Suitcases are not recommended–most travellers carry a backpack or rolling bag of small to medium size (no XXL ones please!). You will also need a day pack/bag to carry water, cameras and other belongings.
Tipping
Tipping is an expected, though not compulsory, component of your tour program. The gesture serves as an expression of appreciation for exceptional service, and amounts given are up to your discretion.
Tipping is one of the most direct ways that you can have a positive economic impact within the African community. Although it may not be customary for you, it is an important source of income for those in the tourism industry. Giving a tip should be a seen as a formal 'thank you', and the action should in no way be awkward.
ELECTRICITY
The power supply in South Africa is nominally 230VAC, 50hz, Type C plug.
